The new sustainable rural homestead with a strong commitment to the environment.

This home draws on the traditional forms and materials typical to the rural vernacular.  It follows a simple linear floor plan with service rooms to the South and the primary living/sleeping zones to the North.  The expressed timber structure was bolted together like a life sized meccano set and wrapped in a skin of steel, plywood and a wall of local sandstone.

A considered suite of environmental initiatives provide for a haven away from the city …a moment of respite.
