The Armytage Beach House @ Lorne

The new holiday Beach House for an interstate pro-surfer.

Located on a steep and triangular site, the design took it cues from the traditional 1960’s beach houses along the coast.  The 2 pavilions (living wing + sleeping wing) were raised on steel legs to provide a ‘platform for living’ and fully clad in a skin of White Cypress timber.

The design overcame the complex site topography and allowed the floor plan to crank towards the Northern sun, capture the sea breezes and frame the ocean views.
